I'm very disappointed to see it go. Had little to no problem uploading 700+ shows with it. I would often take shows and split them up onto different computers and throttle bandwidth over two networks to get shows up at a reasonable speed since upload caps are still ridiculously limiting from ISPs here...now it seems I will be unable to do that any more.

I'm not sure what I clicked wrong, but my first upload ended up in some in the OurMedia section despite paying what I thought was careful attention to the links so now I am having to re-upload the whole thing again at a snails pace again. How long til it's complete? Who even knows! If it ain't broke, please don't fix it!

Problem is, it was broke. :)

Joel, no need to reupload stuff, I can move it over for you. Links please?

Please re-institute FTP at the soonest convenience possible please.
FTP clients almost never crash whereas web browsers do and can.

I have to leave my browser open and remember not to accidentally close the page.
I like having more control over my uploads be it the upload speed or just watching the progress and knowing how long till my upload is completed.

For what it's worth...FTP was dying a slow and painful death for me and HTTP has become a lifesaver. I'd have to connect and reconnect DOZENS of times for individual uploads in the last few months before HTTP finally went live.

In the four months since I've been using it, I've had a browser crash on me once, and was able to instantly recover the files by hitting the Share button again, and there they were.

I wouldn't mind seeing FTP still open for LMA uploads but HTTP is every bit as stable, if not more, in my experience (and can be throttled with Firefox plugins if you're so inclined).

before this last version of firefox, it crashed weekly on me when I wasn't even around. It has done it since than as well yet less often.
Usually after using flash for extended time (listening to music)
Which ironic enough is what archives new uploader is, unless you choose not to use flash....
I know I wasn't the only one experiencing this with firefox either...

for what it's worth, I never had any issues with the ftp, yes I would get a disco but it picked right back up without any intervention my behalf.
Adding another plugin to firefox really isn't an option I would like to consider.
I would consider not uploading to archive in the future if this is the future of archive before adding more plugins for one site..
Dumbing stuff down doesn't equate easier or more efficient for administrators or users.

Fixed that for ya. It's much, MUCH easier for me as an administrator and as a user. I'm not sure how you know things are harder for administrators now. That being said, I've got a standing offer for all TS.com folks that I'll upload shows for you if you send me the files. :)
